Coach Lynette joins us for a second season. She is such a great example of hard work and dedication to the game. She is constantly pushing herself to learn about the ever-changing game of volleyball. We love her abliity to have fun but also work.
Amy Mestas
Coach Amy is a lifelong Alaskan, entering her 4th year as the head coach for the South Wolverines and 14th year overall for ASD. Last year she was awarded the Coach of the Year for the Cook Inlet Conference. She brings a passion to the game and an ability to create strong players, mentally and physically. Coach Mestas was a setter and defensive specialist at the Illinois Institute of Technology. She is currently a structural engineer for PDC engineering, where she was just awarded the engineer of the year award for the state of AK.
Brad Houser
Coach Brad recently moved to Alaska. He comes to us with over of 25 years of club coaching experience. His teams have won state (high school), regional (club), and district (school) championships, as well as competed at the USA national championships for both girls and boys divisions. Brad’s teams have produced countless scholarship players and professional international players throughout the years. Brad has coached all levels from college down to junior high.
Bobbi Mason
Coach Bobbi is entering her 7th year as the head coach for the Chugiak Mustangs, her 15th year overall as a head coach in ASD. She brings energy to the court and a desire for her players to be working to the potential. Coach Mason was an outside hitter and defensive specialist for UAA and graduated with a BA in Physical Education. She was an award winning PE teacher before leaving to raise her now family of four. She holds numerous certificates in the fitness industry and currently works as a fitness instructor for the Alaska Club.
Katie Oxspring
In her first season as head coach at Wasilla High School, they brought home a region championship, which hadn’t been done in 17 years, and was the NLC Coach of the year. She brings with her 13 years of coaching experience from Arizona, as well as playing NJCAA D1 at Yavapai College, graduating from Arizona University. Katie moved to Alaska in 2015, and has a huge passion for volleyball, and wants to bring the knowledge she has from growing up in a volleyball state to Alaaka
